Oh my goodness, it has been way too long since I have updated.
The biggest news is Peanut's progress with swim lessons. Last week she seemed to wake up one morning and decide to go under water on her own - she has come so far since then! She has passed into level two of lessons and is going under like a fish. She can also swim a few yards on her own! I am so impressed with her improvements this summer. It is incredible. I am a proud Mama :).
Bug is also doing really well with his swim lessons. He loves the water and has a great time playing with his teachers. Peanut really wants to know why it looks like he just plays during his whole lesson while she has to do work. Too funny! It's because he is playing during his lesson :).
Peanut has also started gymnastics back up since I last posted. She is in her new higher class and it is going incredible well! I am so proud of her - she is trying things that she hasn't done before, she is practicing on her own outside of class, and she really is acting more mature these days. Her cartwheel and her handstand have shown some significant progress in the last few weeks.
Bug still isn't saying many words at 15 months, but he does say up, hi, mama, ball, cup, bottle (his version of bottle, anyway). I love that baby boy. He may not say much, but he communicates effectively anyway. He points, and squeals, and makes noise to tell what he wants.
Bug's favorite things are eating, brushing your hair with a hairbrush, playing basketball, putting his shoes on and off, and running. He loves to cuddle when he's sleepy and he's just now starting to transition from two naps to one nap during the day. He sleeps between 12 and 14 hours at night, which is amazing, but I'm going to miss the two naps.
Peanut is working really hard to get ready for school. She has been doing a preschool workbook the past few weeks and is really great at it. She's learning about and working on a number of different concepts. The only things she struggles with a bit are drawing shapes and writing some letters and writing the numbers.
I am looking into signing Peanut up for dance class this fall. I think she would really enjoy it. We'll see how things go, though, we are also looking into building a house. Exciting changes on the horizon for the family.
