Update

It's been too long since my last update.  I am feeling very pregnant at 35 weeks - and having a ton of back pain which is not fun.  We did end up in the hospital Tuesday as I woke up with contractions and back pain worse than I had experienced up to that point.  Of course, the contractions went away as soon as they hooked me up to the monitors and we got sent home.

Peanut is pretty funny these days and quite the chatterbox.  Yesterday we went to Stride Rite and picked up some dress shoes for Easter service and Aunt Olivia's wedding, and Grandma M bought Peanut some rain boots that she's been walking around the house in ever since.  She loves that she can put them on and take them off all by herself.

Every day, Peanut surprises me with what she's learned.  We've been working on how to play the memory game at home and this morning she set it up all on her own (I did help her make sure she had only pairs in her pile when she started so it wouldn't be a wild goose chase during the game).  She flipped all the cards over and spread them all out and started playing memory all on her own.  Smart kiddo.  She also peed in the potty all by herself this morning.  She told me she didn't want my help and she pulled down her underpants, peed, came to get me to help with wiping/disposing and pulled her underpants back up.  WAY TO GO KIDDO!

I'm feeling better about what we have done for little man's arrival.  We still need to find the cover for the RNP, but the house looks great (once I pick up the toys from this morning it will look even better) and our to-do list finally feels like it's getting shorter.  Still a good number of things to accomplish, but it doesn't seem as daunting as it did.

Time to log off and pick up from a certain two year old, then grab some lunch!

Peanut's First Playdate

Busy, busy week this week and we are feeling a little under the weather at our house.  Okay, that's an understatement.  My husband and I are feeling very under the weather this week.  But life goes on.

Here's a snapshot of our week:
Monday - OBGYN growth ultrasound and follow up appointment
Tuesday - Swimming for Peanut with Grandma
Wednesday - Gymnastics for Peanut, Play date for Peanut, Lunch/Shopping Trip with my mom
Thursday - Cleaning the house and having friends over for dinner
Friday - Eye appointment (Peanut with Grandma)

Today was by far our busy day.  It was a ton of fun but I am exhausted.  Unfortunately, being sick, I am also struggling to breathe and am not sleeping well.  Oy.  Not a good combination, I have a massive sinus headache at the moment and I am trying to will myself to fall asleep to get some relief.

Peanut's first play date was with a girl named Ellie from gymnastics.  She had a lot of fun, and I appreciated having another mom to talk with and get to know.  Hopefully we will be able to get together again so the girls can play - with the baby's due date coming soon a lot of things are up in the air for a while.

Growth U/S

Today was my growth ultrasound because I have been measuring small at my last couple of appointments.  They didn't tell me how small I was measuring at 28 weeks, but today at 32 weeks my belly measured 30 weeks.  Never fear, the ultrasound showed no reason for concern.  Little guy looked great; in fact, he was measuring at 33 or 34 weeks (depending on the measurement)!  I make big babies I guess.  Peanut was born at 35 weeks and weighed 5 pounds, 6 ounces, which is a good size for a baby that early.

This little guy is already estimated to weigh in at 4 pounds, 5 ounces.  Crazy!  He also has a large noggin like his big sister.  Hopefully things continue to go smoothly from here on out, we scheduled the next five (FIVE!?!) appointments for the next month and a half.  That's something new for me, I didn't get to the weekly appointments with Peanut because she was born so early.  I am going to feel really comfortable at the OBGYN office soon - ha!

New Session, New Compliments

Daddy took Peanut to gymnastics yesterday morning as I was already feeling under the weather.  It marked the start of a new eight week session, but the classes are still with the same teachers which I appreciate.  I really respect the two teachers that instruct Peanut's lessons, I haven't been as impressed with some of the other instructors that we've encountered along the way.

Anyway, apparently a number of the students in the Saturday morning class this time around are new.  Miss Kristin apparently mentioned that Peanut was one of her advanced students that she would be pushing a little bit more than some of the other kids.  I am so proud of Peanut.  She may only be 2 years and 4 months, but she's come such a long way and it's nice that the teacher recognized that.  I know it doesn't mean a whole lot in the itty bitty class, but it definitely makes this Mama puff out her chest a little bit and think that's my girl!  Love that kiddo and how hard she works/how well she listens.

Wednesday, we have lessons with our other class for week two and there's only one new student in that group.  Everyone else is the same as before, which I appreciate as I think it's a nice group of kids/parents for the most part.  In fact, Peanut has her first play date at one of the little girl's houses after lesson on Wednesday so we will be heading over there to play.  It should be fun!

Almost 32 Weeks

On Tuesday I will be 32 weeks pregnant and I can still hardly believe it.  Tomorrow is our growth scan to check and see how the little guy is doing and then we will have a follow up appointment with the doctor.  Hopefully everything is going according to plan!  After we see him on the ultrasound tomorrow (and make sure he's still a he!) I will order the bedding for his room.  I also need to measure and order the dresser for Peanut's room that will then be Little Man's dresser when he outgrows the crib.  We're pretty sure we know what we want now, though.  That's a plus.  There's a lot of work to be done, including washing all of the baby clothes and baby gear that has been stored in our basement since Peanut was an infant.

Once we order the furniture and it comes in, I can get our laundry situation under control.  We have what appears to be a laundry explosion in our house.  With the kids rooms not situated yet, I have no place to put their clothing so it's just sitting in piles.  Ahh.

To top all of the stress of being unprepared...we are all sick.  Yuck.  Peanut has a runny nose and a cough, Daddy has a sore throat and generally doesn't feel good, and I have a headache, body aches, runny nose/sore throat, ear pain and all of the goodness of being pregnant on top of it. I've been sleeping like crazy and Daddy has had to pick up a lot of slack around the house, which I really appreciate since he isn't feeling well either.
